Netflix however seems to look pretty great in HDR. HDR looks amazing now. Glad to hear it worked for you. Same for me. Read this post, downloaded the roku app, turned on the gamma to 2. Instantly noticed a difference on how good the picture improved.
Im gonna have to check my sharpness levels and see where they are sitting. Im trusting Paul and making sure its at 0. Here's a quick link I found that might give you a little description on noise reduction options on tvs. I'm sure there are much better ones out there, but this is quick one I found. On my TCLI didn't see this option to turn off anywhere. I turned that off and bumped up my gamma to 2.
On my previous TVs, turning off the noise reduction always helped my image quality when gaming and my cable tv.
Thank you so much! I am definitely going to do look at the Expert app when I get home. I modified everything but don't think I ever messed with the noise reduction. Just remember, if you turn off the noise reduction on the settings while you're on the Xbox Home Screen, you'll have to do the same once you fire up a game that utilizes HDR.
Once you do it the first time, your tv will remember in the future and you won't have to fool with it. For picture mode, do you mean HDR Light instead of bright? Hey, these settings are great. Is movie fine? Game mode looks sharper already but The description states that the image is of less quality is this true? HDR is only present when whatever you are doing is HDR compatible, yes game mode very slightly degrades the picture.A leading provider of homesourcing: customer and technical support solutions delivered by home-based employees.

To make the image brighter in SDR, you should first select the TV brightness range in the TV picture settings menu to one of the 5 preset options and then adjust the Backlight on the Advanced Picture Settings depending on your specific viewing conditions.
Changing this setting does not have any impact on the overall picture quality. The Brightness setting is a picture adjustment setting, and we do not recommend adjusting it. The Local contrast setting controls the R's local dimming feature.
We recommend the 'High' setting, but when watching some content, especially subtitled content, it might be best to lower the setting. You should adjust these to your personal preference, though. HDR is automatically enabled for the native apps. Once you start playing HDR content, some of the settings change automatically, including the Backlight.
We recommend leaving these settings to their default settings in HDR. Older devices may have compatibility issues if this option is left enabled, so it is recommended to only enable this setting for devices that require it. If you find HDR too dark, changing local dimming to 'Medium' results in an overall brighter picture, but the peak brightness is a bit lower, as shown in the image.
Although we disable most motion enhancing functions for most of our tests, you should adjust these to whatever looks best for you. H9E Plus. P Series Quantum X M8 Series Quantum I have a TCL 65r and want to calibrate the 11pt white balance and color space in the expert picture settings on the Roku app on my phone. Is there an easy or preferred method of doing that? I have an i1Display Pro, but I can't seem to measure those parameters using the i1 software. Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?
I have used the iPQ calibration app and it only seems to calibrate the brighter half of 11 point white balance, and doesn't touch the color space. But,It is odd Roku offers this level of calibration, then just tells you to use "a colorimeter and a pattern generator strongly recommended " But nothing about how to use it or any recommendations.
